IIHS Safety

Safety in numbers.

When driving, you want to know that you and your passengers are safely protected at all times. No one understands this better than us. And while we could go on about the safety of our vehicles, don't just take our word for it. Consider that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently awarded 9 of our vehicles with Top Safety Pick awards in 2013. Suffice to say, no other accolade is more important to us.

Safety at every turn.

ICRS stands for Intelligent Crash Response System. Found in all Volkswagen models, this system is designed to help keep you safe in the event of an accident. Should a collision occur that causes the airbags to deploy and the ICRS to be activated, ICRS will automatically unlock all the doors, disable the fuel pump, and turn on the hazard lights. Your safety means everything to us. And this is just one more way of ensuring it.

Dynamic Cornering Light

Light around the bend.

Bi-xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights help you get an early look at all unexpected obstacles on the road. Motors swivel the headlights to follow the steering angle of your vehicle, lighting up twists in the road whenever you're driving over 15 km/h. More visibility means more response time, so you can focus on your driving and worry less about whatever's coming up around the bend.

Brake Assist Systems

Pulling out all the stops.

You never know when you're going to need to stop on a dime. Thankfully, the Volkswagen Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) will be there when you do. It uses speed sensors to monitor how quickly each wheel is spinning, then helps keep the brakes from locking up during sudden stops so you remain in control at all times.

Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) works together with ABS, helping to ensure you get maximum braking power in every situation. The most common cause of rear-end collisions is drivers not pressing down on the brake pedal hard enough. HBA stops this problem in its tracks, making sure your vehicle comes to a complete stop even when you aren't pressing the brakes all the way.
